News roundup: first U.S. event is close, Enterprise support during work hours, and more

Woah – one day you’re bowling pre-Christmas, and the next thing you know, it’s Valentine’s Day! Time really does fly. We’ve been busy planning a whole bunch of exciting things that we think you should know about.


Magnolia Amplify

Let’s start with a big event that’s coming up: Magnolia Amplify. We look forward to welcoming insightful speakers to Miami for three days full of presentations and workshops. You can expect paired talks, where customers team up with Magnolians to show you both sides of the story. And there’s going to be hands-on workshops (on Spring, migration, and templating, for example). To top it off, you’ll meet a ton of Magnolians – a lot of them are going to fly over the pond to meet you in Miami. You can still register!


Enterprise support 

Next, we’re very happy to announce that Magnolia’s Support now spans 14 contiguous hours per workday for the basic service levels SLA-0 and SLA-1. Americas support issues will be handled from the Miami office, or, to put it simply: if you are in the Americas and need support from us, there’ll be a 5 to 8 hour overlap per day, depending on your time zone. Great news, right? One person you’re definitely going to be dealing with is our Americas support engineer Richard. Let’s hear what he likes most about his job:

Each day is different. At Magnolia, support requests vary on a day to day basis. Frequency and complexity change from one day to the next. My “standard day” consists of reviewing all support requests that came in while I was sleeping. In the morning, I usually spend time answering requests that I know answers to already. After lunch I try to learn something new by taking a request that requires more reaserch on my part, since I joined Magnolia only a few months ago. I learn something new each day!

New South Florida meet-up group

Another occasion where you can meet up with Magnolia people or simply delve into CMS discussions is a meet-up group we just set up. We want to connect more with CMS aficionados in South Florida. Our first meeting is going to take place on March 7 and will feature short talks by Atlassian’s Wiliam Paoli and our own CTO Boris Kraft. We’ll meet at Bar Louie at 5.30pm. Magnolia is sponsoring the event, so drinks are on us! We plan on organising an event every two months, and maybe even more frequently at a later point. If you’re around on March 7, RSVP today!


New furniture

And, on a somewhat unrelated note, we’ve been working from brand-new work stations (by which we mean tables, chairs and dividers) for a few weeks now. Even though the furniture is a lot bigger than our make-shift Ikea tables, it somehow makes our office seem bigger. There’s space for three more people, so if you can see yourself sitting next to one of us, apply right now!
